What to do Next - Suggestions for Action

There are many Irish and international organisations responding to emergencies. Each has its own distinct way of working, and their own mandate. There are international organisations - such as for instance the UN organisations for refugees, children and coordination and the European Union's office for humanitarian aid - and national organisations such as Irish Aid.

And there are lots of private aid agencies, or NGOs: they differ in approach, because they each have different constituencies and areas of expertise. At the same time, most of them have signed up to internationally agreed standards and codes of conduct.

Your help in campaigning for a fairer world is of great value to the Irish NGOs.
